Many English speakers incorrectly translate the Spanish word éxito as 'exit'.

Éxito looks like the word exit in English but it is a false friend. This means that the words appear similar in both languages but they both have a different meaning.

Éxito is a noun that means success.

If you want to say the word exit in Spanish, you have to use the word 'Salida'.

If you look at the exit signs in different stores, restaurants etc. they will say Salida.
